Linnea Ann Nielsen

We were working on animal sounds and Mommy asked what a Gator says, so I did the Gator Chomp and sang “duuuuuuuuuh dut”.

I did it again so Daddy could record it and share it with everyone.

I am starting to walk around on my own a bit. I can walk pretty well when I have something to hold on to but when I let go I can still make it a few steps. I’m walking better every day so stay tuned. I should be running laps by the next time you see me.

Linnea’s learned a lot of new tricks in this past month or so. Seems like every day it’s something new. Just yesterday she learned how to go from her belly to her butts without help. She’s going to be crawling any day now. Here’s a highlight reel of the last month’s activities.

In case you’re wondering why we haven’t posted any video of her earlier in life it’s because our camcorder had an ‘incident’. Just minutes after we got home from the hospital after she was born, after taking a few seconds of video, all of the videos on the disc we suddenly erased without provocation or warning. This included a video we made (addressed to her) while Steph was in labor, video of her in the minutes and hours after she was born, video of her leaving the hospital and of her coming into her home for the first time. Those are a lot of memories that we’ll have to be content to have in our memories and never on the screen. We’ve let go of the anger that ensued. After all what can you do? Still it will cause us to think twice before trusting Sony with our hard-earned money again, and I hope you all will do the same. 

Linnea started smiling recently and we’re thrilled to share her beautiful smiles with everyone. They are still somewhat rare but we love each and every one. Strangely enough she is most likely to smile when she’s naked. As her father this concerns me… a lot.     If you can’t see the above video, you can also watch it here.
